We will resume Jr BASIC in the Church basement starting September 17th @ 6pm.
Jr Basic is a youth group for 3rd-6th graders in the Benton Community district. We meet every Thursday from 6-7:30 pm, mid September to the end of April. We follow the Benton Community School schedule, therefore if there is a snow day or break, we will not have Jr BASIC.
We provide a full meal every week, desserts are graciously provided by the parents. We send a new dessert sign-up out at the beginning of each semester.
After we eat, we head upstairs to sing a few fun worship songs and then we break into two groups for games and a Bible-based lesson. Each lesson ties into the gift of salvation given to us by Jesus’ sacrifice and God’s love.
New students will be gifted an Apologetics Study Bible For Students, make sure they bring them each week. The kids are rewarded for bringing their Bibles with points that go toward fun prizes. Many kids choose to highlight the passages we read, so a pen or highlighter is handy! Bible tabs (about $6 from amazon) are also recommended if your kids are not super familiar with the Bible. We always have adults that will help too!
